Abstract
The Central Statistics Agency of Aceh Singkil Regency has conducted the 2024 Village Potential (Podes)
data collection in May 2024 through a census of all districts, sub-districts, and the lowest government administrative
areas at the village level. The village-level administrative areas covered in Podes include villages. The results of the
2024 Podes data collection noted that the village-level government administrative areas consisted of 119 villages.
In addition, it is also known that there are 11 sub-districts. The 2024 Podes data collection collects various
information, both in terms of the potential of the village/sub-district and information related to vulnerabilities or
challenges faced by the village/sub-district and basic infrastructure in the village/sub-district. Information related
to village/sub-district potential includes: employment, education, health, socio-culture, sports and entertainment,
transportation, communication and information, economy, security, development and empowerment of village/subdistrict communities. Information related to vulnerabilities or challenges includes natural disasters, environmental
pollution, social and health problems in the community, and security disturbances that occur in the village/subdistrict. Infrastructure information in villages/sub-districts includes: education, health, and economic infrastructure.
The results of the 2024 Podes data collection show that most of the villages/sub-districts in Indonesia work
in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, namely 108 villages. In addition, there are 5 villages where most of the people
work in government administration, defense, and compulsory social security, and there are 4 villages where most of
the people work in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair and maintenance. then there is 1 village
where most of the people work in transportation and warehousing, and 1 village where most of the people work in
other service activities. The large number of village people working in agriculture in Indonesia is supported by the
existence of rivers, irrigation channels and reservoirs in the village. Of the 119 villages in Aceh Singkil, there are
82 villages with rivers, 26 villages with springs, and 4 villages with lakes/reservoirs/situ/dams.
The 2024 Podes data shows the economic potential of the village, there are 28 villages that have superior
product goods even though they are still focused on the domestic market. In supporting the movement of the economy,
it is not only supported by physical facilities, but support for credit facilities and telecommunications network
facilities is important today so that economic growth is faster. The results of the 2024 Podes show that there are 85
villages that have People’s Business Credit (KUR), there are 4 villages/sub-districts that have Joint Business Credit
(KUBE), there are 5 villages/sub-districts that have Small Business Credit (KUK). The telecommunications
network facilities covered in Podes are the existence of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), cellular telephone signals,
and cellular/handphone internet signals. There are 83 villages that have cellular telephone signals, but 36 villages
have weak signal strength, but there are no villages that do not have cellular telephone signals in their areas.
The 2024 Podes data recorded that there were 15 villages with water pollution in their areas, 7 villages with
air pollution in their areas, and no villages with air pollution in their areas. In addition to pollution incidents, Podes
2024 shows natural disasters in village areas, where there are 44 villages experiencing floods in their areas, there
are 9 villages experiencing earthquakes in their areas, and there are 7 villages experiencing landslides in their areas.
The Podes 2024 data collection also presents various information related to the availability of infrastructure
in various fields in Indonesia.In the field of education, at the elementary school level it is known that there are 109 public and private elementary schools, and there are 15 public and private Islamic elementary schools spread across
villages in Aceh Singkil. At the junior high school level, there are 41 public and private junior high schools and
10 public and private Islamic junior high schools spread across villages in Indonesia. At the high school level, there
are 13 public and private senior high schools, there are 7 public and private Islamic senior high schools, there are 9
public and private vocational schools spread across villages in Indonesia. At the academy/university level, there are
3 state academies/universities and there are 4,083 private academies/universities in Indonesia. In the health sector,
Podes 2024 shows that there is 1 hospital in Aceh Singkil. In addition to hospitals, the number of health center
facilities in Aceh Singkil based on Podes 2024 is 5 inpatient health centers and 7 non-inpatient health centers.
The government prioritizes the development of Aceh Singkil by strengthening villages within the framework
of a unitary state. The results of the Podes Data Collection can be used as material for regional analysis related
to economic, social and regional facilities/infrastructure potential. In addition, it can also be used in program
evaluation and used in the preparation of regional-based policies/strategies.
