Abstract
People's welfare has always been
the main goal that stakeholders in various regions want to realize. However,
achieving the goal of creating a prosperous society is not something that can
be achieved easily, especially to reach the point of equal distribution of
welfare for all levels of society. In many studies, the value of people's
income can describe their level of welfare. The value of community income,
especially at the household level, can be broadly illustrated through household
consumption and expenditure patterns. In general, from 2021 to 2024,
the percentage of poor people in Aceh Singkil will decrease. In 2021, the
percentage of Aceh Singkil's poor population will be 20.36 percent. This figure
tends to decrease consistently until 2024 becomes 19.06 percent. The biggest
decline occurred in 2022, namely from 20.36 percent to 19.18 percent (-1.28
percent). Meanwhile, the smallest decline occurred in 2023, namely from 19.18
percent to 19.15 percent (-0.03 percent). If you look at the numbers, the poor
population in Aceh Singkil tends to fluctuate. The highest number of poor
people is in 2021, 25,480 people. Meanwhile, the number of poor people will be
the smallest, namely in 2022 as many as 24,330 people. The poverty line
determines the boundary between whether a population is said to be poor or not.
Population with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line is
included in the poor category, while residents with average per capita
expenditure per month above the poverty line are not included in the poor
category. The poverty line in Aceh Singkil tends to increase from 2021 to 2024.
In 2021 the Aceh Singkil poverty line is IDR 487,249.00, while in 2024 it will
be IDR 609,322.00 with an average increase in the poverty line of around 7.7
percent per the year. The value of the rupiah spent on consumption and expenses
of a household can be used as an illustration of the household's ability to
meet its living needs. Furthermore, this can also provide an idea of the
lifestyle of a household.
The proportion of household expenditure
to meet food and non-food needs also provides an illustration of the level of
welfare of a household. Households where the majority of their expenditure is
used to fulfill food needs can be said to have a lower economic level when
compared to households where the majority of their expenditure is allocated to
non-food needs. If a household spends more of its income on non-food needs, it
can be interpreted that the household is no longer constrained in meeting its
food needs, so they can spend more freely on their income for tertiary needs.
Based on Susenas data for the last 4 years, the average per capita expenditure
per month in Aceh Singkil has increased from 2021 to 2023, then decreased in
2024. Apart from the inflation factor, this decrease shows a decrease in
people's purchasing power in 2024. both in the food and non-food expenditure
categories. The average food expenditure is IDR 600,916.00, while the average
non-food expenditure is IDR 439,624.00.
