Consumer Price Index / Inflation July 2020

The development of various commodity prices in July 2020 generally showed a decline. In July 2020 there was a deflation of 0.31 percent, or a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 104.56 in June 2020 to 104.24 in July 2020.

Deflation that occurred in the Province of Aceh (Combined 3 Cities) occurred due to falling prices as indicated by the decline in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.51 percent; and transportation by 0.13 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced inflation, namely: the clothing and footwear group by 0.09 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and household fuel by 0.02 percent; health group of 0.72 percent; education group by 0.09 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.14 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 1.79 percent. While the expenditure group that did not change was the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group; information, communication and financial services groups; and recreational, sports and cultural groups.

The calendar year inflation rate (January-July) 2020 is 1.35 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019) is 1.04 percent.
